Branding Case Study: The Colin Powell School
The Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership is a new school at the City College of New York, with an incredibly diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students.
The Problem
When you think of higher education in the United States, you think of Harvard, Yale or Princeton - schools with what you could say is a well known, historic brand. What you don't think of is the Colin Powell School (CPS). How could we build their brand from the bottom up?
The Process
My team did a deep dive into the higher education field and college aged students. What did students want from higher education? And what did CPS have to offer them that competitor schools didn't?
The Insight
The Colin Powell School could build its brand as a thought leader by inviting students into the process of thought leadership. And the event series they were planning on hosting around issues like "Women and the Veil" would be the perfect platform.
